Mrs. Jari Patlokova, Lahser's Fulbright Exchange teacher, spoke to the students in each class period about the Czech Republic, her school, and her hometown. The students were also treated to images of Prague and Boskovice, as well as photos of the technical school where she teaches and her students involved in environmental projects. Two Lahser students helped prepare and present the multimedia images: Markus Krug, also from the Czech Republic and a new student at Lahser this year, and Szymon Zahel from Poland, who has attended Lahser for two years. Reactions to the presentation were very favorable! Especially impressive were Jari's statements about the importance of learning a second language and how personally enriching it is. She reiterated Charlemagne's statement that speaking a second language is like having a second soul! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us, Mrs. P!
