School Life

After having settled down back in the Czech Republic (which was not easy process at all:-)), this chapter may serve mainly as a way for my American friends to stay in touch with me, just to getting know what is happening in my ordinary life.

The town of Boskovice was our next destination, where we met a class of about 18 boys who are studying technology subjects at Střední odborná škola a Střední odborné učiliště A. Citroëna. Teacher Mrs. Jarka Patloková gave us a very interesting tour of the school, the only one in Europe which is permitted to use the Citroën name. Mrs. Patloková uses a lot of original materials to keep the boys’ minds alert, and the class is very enthusiastic. And here’s another interesting tip for teachers: the day before our visit, the students made posters about the main topics to talk about with a native speaker visitor. This gave the students a little practice at asking and answering questions, so it was easier for them to speak during our actual visit.
Thank you, students and teachers at Třebíč, Boskovice, Brno, and Kojetín! We enjoyed meeting you and seeing your beautiful towns.
